The Province reported in April that a new SeaBus route between Bowen Island and downtown Vancouver's Waterfront Station will be tested within the next twelve months. As indicated in the map below, the SeaBus would also make stops at Ambleside to pick up and drop off commuters from West Vancouver.
Translink was careful to caution that the project is still in the preliminary planning stages.
Prior to selecting the Snug Harbour-Ambleside-Waterfront route as the most viable, 24 potential ferry terminals were identified throughout the GVRD, including places such as Belcarra, Jericho, Maple Ridge and Steveston. Another possible route that might happen in the future - seasonal service between Ladner and Steveston.
