Of course, Spectrum isn't the only new development going on in that busy little corner of the city, that some developers have dubbed "Crosstown", or as we like to call it, "nowheresville".
Just up the block on Beatty street are two Metroliving developments, while the 26 storey Taylor building (pictured below) is said to be coming along quite nicely as well.
The International Village neighbourhood already consists of two completed buildings, Paris Place and Europa, while the Firenze development is currently under construction.
Located on the East side of Abbot street, Firenze consists of three buildings, with heights of 31 storeys (282 feet), 25 storeys (229 feet) and 7 storeys (69 feet). A total of 430 condo units are being built, scheduled for completion in early 2007.
And finally, the soon to be unveiled Espana project will be built across the street from Firenze. Designed to complete the other quarter of the Paris Place semi-circle, it will also finish off the International Village development.
At present, Espana is still being reviewd by the development board. The current application calls for 3 towers, coming in at heights of 35 storeys, 33 storeys and 8 storeys, and will add 458 new residential units to the area.
