If you get the chance, swing by the display centre for Norman Foster's upcoming contribution to the Vancouver skyline, Jameson House.
In short, this building has all the bells and whistles - automated parking garages, sustainable construction 'designed to exceed LEED standards', mixed use - retail, office and residential, and incredible design to boot.
The developers will also be restoring two heritage buildings that form the base of Jameson House.
Included among the project's environmentally-friendly features are a rainwater recylcing system, water-heated and cooled floors, its own biodiesel co-generation plant, and the building itself, which is designed to make the most of its exposure to the sun and wind to help regulate its temperature.
Construction is set to begin later this month, with completion scheduled by 2009. The 37 storey (380 feet) building will include 144 residential units on the top 26 floors, which will sit above 8 floors of office and 3 floors of retail space.
