After almost 16 months of construction, Vancouver's soon-to-be tallest building, the 61-storey Living Shangri-La, has finally started to rise above ground level as of this past July.
According to news reports, construction crews will be adding about one floor per week until the building finally tops out in August 2007.
For those who want to check in on their progress, the building's developer has added a second webcam (link here) of the construction site. The above photo was taken on October 3rd, 2006 (click for larger version).
Links to both Shangri-La webcams are available on our Vancouver Webcams page, here.
