Word on the street is that Living Shangri-La is closing-in on the halfway mark, which means that if you're over in Kitsilano, you can expect to see the top floors peeking out over the skyline within the next few weeks.

There's no word yet though, as to whether the Shangri-La will still top-out this coming August, as initially planned.
Anyway, for those who don't get downtown much, VacantReady.com (formerly Chrispitality.com) is continuing to post fine videos of new hotel development in the city.
Check out the following footage, for a relatively recent look at what's been going on down at the Shangri-La site.
And for some bonus footage...VacantReady has some fresh video of the Loden Hotel as well.

It's definitely going up faster now, but it's not quite halfway yet - when I checked a few days ago it was only at about 22 or 23 stories ('Twas hard to tell from where I was standing)
